FAQ
GNSS requires open outdoor environments or try with an external antenna.
The development board is connected to the LDS antenna by default. If you need to use the IPEX interface to connect an external GNSS antenna, as shown in the figure below, move the resistor in the red box ① half a grid to the position of the green box②.
Please ensure your device is in an open outdoor area (a window is not sufficient).
Keep the screen pointing toward the sky, which will allow the GPS antenna to receive the best signal.
The GPS antenna is located on the plastic bracket next to the screen, so please ensure it is not blocked by metal.
Flash the GPS reset firmware, then re-flash your program. GPS reset firmware link: https://resource.heltec.cn/download/tools/UC6580_Clear_All.ino(1).uf2

The 28 dBm radio you’ve been waiting for!
The T096 is a sx1262 radio based on the the energy efficient nrf52 architecture which is the brain of this small node. Ideal for solar nodes with the punch of nearly 1w. Well it sports a modest 28 dBm it’s well above the standard for the sx1262 which normally sits around 22 dBm. So you can compensate well for filter, trees, and generally “shout” farther by message.
I would compare it against a Heltec V4 and the Esp32 Wireless Tracker V2 which sports a similar complement. There are differences however, it lacks wifi and an additional core being Nrf52 but that assists with the energy efficiency.
No need to install a GPS yourself with this radio it’s already installed!
Tested output to 28.22 dBm or 663.74 mW +- on 915Mhz US using a RF meter.
Compatible with Meshtastic or Meshcore
